All My Videos Are Good - Ibrahim Jika [@IbJika]

During the week Seepmuzik Blog's @iam_sonnyyoung hooked up with one of the best video director from the north Ibrahim Jika popularly called Ibj,he gave us an insight on his journey in and around his world,his pains as well as his gain!! Read Below.........
Seepmuzik: Can we know you sir?
IB-jika: I am called Ibrahim Jika; a music video director and a promo strategist.



Seepmuzik: Tell us about your growing up days,the hustle,the challenges?
IB-jika: Growing up for me was fun to a certain limit when I realized the fun wont last forever if i don't back it up with something productive and here I am today. So I would love to say it wasnt just a hustle but a calling from above.

Seepmuzik: what will you say was your first major break into the industry?
IB-jika: Well; that would be the creation of toptainments, TESA (Top Entertainments States Awards) pulled the string for me winning northern Nigeria biggest promo idealist endorsed by NAN. Also am believed to be the youngest video director in the country..
Seepmuzik: Tell us bout your work with kannywood,how did you get connected?
IB-jika: Actually thats something I have no idea how it happened, I was home enjoying my chill coke and watching Nigezie when I got a call from a Yola based film director that he wants me to work on his movie project, and boom before you know it others started calling and my work started building a giant pyramid for me.

Seepmuzik: What is the connection between you and Toptainments?
IB-jika: The connecton is I created it and thanks to what ever food my mom gave me when that idea came to me, for it changed my whole life possitively...

Seepmuzik: What was your journey like from the start of your career to this present moment?
IB-jika: Oh man! Alhamdulillah, it has been God all the way, all the love, the respect, the trials, thanks to God, my mom and everyone supporting the movement.
Seepmuzik: Would you say your childhood ambition was to become a video director?
IB-jika: Since from the baby factory... it has been media.

Seepmuzik: What did you study at the University?
IB-jika: Induatrial design

Seepmuuzik: Did your parents career have any influence on your chosen career path?
IB-jika: LOL, this is the funny part, my late dad was an immigration chief (Assistant controller) and my mom is a Police chief. Imagine that and tell yourself the chances...

Seepmuzik: How did you come about shooting music videos?
IB-jika: Had the dream and will, then went for film school, added some other side trainings and boom am here doing voodoo.

Seepmuzik: You seem to be the preferred choice especially among young northern artistes who want to shoot musical videos. Why do they keep coming to you?
IB-jika: First of all, I personally enjoy working with rising stars for how they put everything they've got to achieve that which they desire; so I think we both like each other. Am gonna be shooting some very unusuals videos this season so stay on attention, and hey budget for yours #wink.

Seepmuzik: From your own perspective, what would be the best video you've ever shot?
IB-jika: All my videos are good...

Seepmuzik: What would make you like your own video?
IB-jika: That would be the amount of work I put into it and how my understanding with the artist goes.

Seepmuzik: Who comes up with the concept for a music video? Is it you or the artiste?
IB-jika: Thats my job but an artist is allowed to contribute for every artist have this feeling of how he wishes for his video to look like.

Seepmuzik: What happens if the artistes or actors doesn't like the concept?
IB-jika: Just as I said, my clients are allowed to contribute. And besides all my video ideas are mountain shakers.

Seepmuzik: Do you have any favorite music video by other directors in Nigeria?
IB-jika: I enjoyed Run my race by Burna boy directed by Clerence Peters and a couple of other videos.

Seepmuzik: What do you really set out to achieve when you take on a job to shoot a video?
IB-jika: Showcasing creativity at its maximum and also make demand a call center for any video i direct.

Seepmuzik: Who has been the most interesting actor/actress/artists you've worked with?
IB-jika: I've never worked with boring people before but I enjoy working with Kris Talker.

Seepmuzik: Who is that director you will love to work with?
IB-jika: Only if its for a movie project, but music video am ok with just Jika..

Seepmuzik: How do you relax?
IB-jika: I love trees, alot of them, so I atimes take a short day trip to a near by forest to calm my nerves and also reason.

Seepmuzik: Are you in a relationship,if yes what's your take on relationships?
IB-jika: My take on relationships is this 'go for it, but remember no one pushed you into it'

Seepmuzik: Five(5) things you can't do without?
IB-jika: My camera, my PC, my phone, the internet and the love am getting.

Seepmuzik: Your celebrity crush?
IB-jika: Oh my... Katrina Graham

Seepmuzik: Word of advice for upcoming artists and directors?
IB-jika: Its in you like peak milk, we all are special in our own way, loyalty and respect is the key.
